“Jake’s a wonderful teacher who wants his students to meet their goals and have fun while learning. It’s not just for kids! He helped me better understand music theory and let me pick songs I wanted to play. He’s very flexible with lessons, too. He encouraged me to get out of my comfort zone and even helped me get a regular paying gig! I’m so glad I took lessons with Jake. Highly recommend."

“I was a total beginner at piano but Jake was so patient with me. I have pretty bad ADHD but he kept me focused and was able to roll with my random shifts in attention. He let me play songs I liked. He’s a great patient piano teacher. I’d recommend him to anyone interested in learning an instrument."

“Jake Spinella is a great music teacher! He engages my son, Vinnie, in a way that he learns the music but also enjoys going to piano lessons! Who can say that? It’s not the boring piano lessons that we remember as a child where you are just doing scales. Jake understands that kids have to like what they’re doing to keep doing it and uses programs that engages the kids where they are learning too! Makes learning fun. Jake is also very accommodating with our schedule."

“We had always thought that piano lessons would be just about playing the piano. What makes Mr. Jake so unique with his method of teaching is that he teaches the students not just about the piano, but about music itself."
— sirisha G.
“I briefly took lessons as a child. I saw you on television on a local news show. You said you taught all ages and seemed to have a different approach from traditioinal piano teachers. You seemed fun! When I called, you called me back right away. In the short time I have been studying with you, I have learned so much."
— Stephanie T.
“I'm surprised by how much he enjoys practicing and will stop by the piano numerous times a day to play a song, figure out a tune in his head, or explore!"
— Megan G.
“Jake’s love of music is evident in both his playing and teaching. My 5th grade daughter began piano lessons with Jake a little over 8 months ago and I have been thoroughly impressed with the progress she is making. Jake focuses not only on the how of playing music, but also the why of music theory. While we are there to learn the piano, he has also allowed my daughter to explore other ways of making music. I would recommend Jake again and again to anyone interested in music lessons."

“[I] was looking very hard for teachers who can accommodate teaching jazz/freestyle playing, so was very happy to stumble across your site online. Also, not many teachers locally are active online, so it was hard to research and find one that was a good fit.”

“I’ve been taking lessons for about 4 months now and I have already learned so much. Jake is a patient and professional teacher and makes the lessons fun and interesting. I’m an adult learner, and he gives me a perfect mix of foundational information and theory to keep me engaged and interested in the material. I can already play a few songs too! I would recommend him to anyone thinking about trying piano.”
